Meet Selector Uniforms & Got Ya Back, our customer.
Selector Uniforms is a New Zealand-based company in the branded apparel and merchandise industry. Although the Selector brand officially launched in 2014, its heritage spans over a century of industry expertise. The company was forged through a partnership between Dynamix Teamwear, a sports uniform specialist founded in 1993, and the McCallums Group, a local institution set to celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.
While Dynamix Teamwear was eventually superseded by Selector, the McCallums Group continues to operate alongside the brand today. The company is continuously evolving, growing beyond traditional one-colour screen printing into advanced multicolour film applications and a broader range of branded merchandise.
One of the company’s most significant recent milestones was the launch of the “Got Ya Back” fundraising platform. Before this platform, fundraising groups struggled with the manual burden of collecting individual names and payments. They often provided data to Selector Uniforms in formats that required tedious spell-checking and manual retyping.
By building a centralised platform, the management at Selector Uniforms sought to eliminate these manual bottlenecks. The team notes that the initiative has been a massive success, stating, “It’s going exceptionally well, and we couldn’t do it without Paystation. Having a simple, reliable way to take donations is essential, and their platform makes the whole process seamless.”
The transition to the “Got Ya Back” model required a seamless payment integration, leading Selector Uniforms to the Paystation secure payment gateway. Previously, the business had struggled with an overseas payment provider that lacked accessible customer service. For Selector Uniforms, the ability to pick up the phone and speak to a local expert was the deciding factor. Selector Uniforms also added Paystation’s WooCommerce plugin to their website. With this ready-made connection, they were able to add secure payment methods to their platform, meaning customers can make payments just as easily as checking out with a standard credit card.
The Paystation team has consistently gone “above and beyond” to ensure the business remains operational. Selector Uniforms recalls an instance where the Paystation support team helped resolve a website glitch by communicating directly with their developer, even though the issue was not related to the gateway itself.
Since partnering with Paystation approximately 18 months ago, the results have been transformative. The platform has allowed Selector Uniforms to return over $350,000 in fundraised money to groups and individuals throughout New Zealand in just the last six months. Whether it is raising $140,000 in a single month for school camps, new hockey turfs, or rugby tournaments, the “Got Ya Back” initiative powered by Paystation has made supporting local causes easier and more professional than ever before.
